The Branch Area Organiser is a new and exciting role designed to take Unison’s organising objectives forward across the branch.

 

The Organiser will be based out of the Melksham office, but the post holder may be required to work across Bath, Swindon and Wiltshire as projects develops.

 

The successful candidate will bring their experience and skills to the role and be able to develop and deliver recruitment and organising initiatives within health, train and develop stewards, undertake case work, advise, support and mentor branch officers and/or regional activists.

 

You will have excellent presentation skills and communication skills, both face-to-face and on paper. A sound understanding of trade unions and their objectives is essential along with a good understanding of UNISON’s policies and objectives.

 

The successful candidate will need to be flexible with their working hours and be able to travel in a flexible and timely manner across Bath Swindon and Wiltshire, the geographical spread of the Branch. Work will be “field” based, in and around member workplaces. Activity is generally within teams, but there will be some lone working. Some desk bound administrative work will also be required.
